The children's program is an important part of Silverside Church. Sunday School at Silverside Church runs simultaneously with the 10 am Sunday Gathering allowing teens and adults an opportunity to meet in the sanctuary while our younger friends enjoy Bible lessons catered toward their interests.
This year, we have launched a new curriculum titled “A Joyful Path,” which will continue Silverside’s mission to educate children on stories from the Bible that emphasize love, tolerance, and appreciating God’s work in and around us.
Designed by Dot Siegfried, lead Sunday School teacher, and Bob George, chair of the church's Board of Education, this year’s lessons include “Filling Our Minds with Goodness” and “God in Nature--worms, snails, and fairies." The children will enjoy crafts, activities, and fellowship in the classrooms while also taking part in the planning and participation of community outreach initiatives. As well, this year we plan to continue our seasonal family friendly field trips and holiday parties.
The Sunday School is a drop in event so there is no need for registration. We are always excited to meet new friends, and our kind child care team have years of experience working with children. You are welcome to bring your children to the classrooms early so that you can meet the staff and acclimate your children to the activity centers in the classrooms.
